How does TXT2Locate work?
TXT2Locate registers a listening function to observe incoming text messages. If the incoming message contains the "Location Trigger" (TXT2Locate by default) then the Global Positioning System (GPS) is activated. Depending on your location and the last time you used your GPS it may take several minutes to acquire a position. TXT2Locate allows up to 3 minutes to acquire a position fix or fall back on cell tower or wifi locations. Once your position is resolved, TXT2Locate sends back a text message with your location information.
Can I evaluate TXT2Locate before I buy?
You can cancel a purchace from the Google Play Store within 15 minutes of the purchase time. If you want to evaluate TXT2Locate then simply purchase the app, play around with it for a few minutes and if you don't like it cancel the transaction through the Google Play Store.
How do I limit who can request my location?
Why does TXT2Locate sometimes return cell tower locations even when the GPS is enabled?
TXT2Locate allows up to 3 minutes to acquire a position fix using GPS. If a GPS fix does not happen within that time TXT2Locate will use a cell tower or wifi location. Many factors such as being indoors, clouds, trees,... will cause the GPS system to work poorly or not at all.
Why is TXT2Locate not working?
While we made an effort to test TXT2Locate in a variety of configurations and situations, there are a few reasons why TXT2Locate may not work:
- While TXT2Locate simply observes incoming text messages, other applications may gain priority and prevent TXT2Locate from observing incoming messages. GO SMS Pro is one example of an application that consumes the incoming text messages. See the next FAQ if you have GO SMS Pro installed. Contact support (slugdev@gmail.com) if you have questions or cannot resolve the issue.
- If your GPS is turned off TXT2Locate will not return a location fix. Simply turn your GPS on to address this problem.
Why do I get a "GO SMS Pro found" message when I go to the settings menu?
If GO SMS Pro is installed, it may prevent TXT2Locate from working properly. To fix this issue open 'GO SMS Pro' and then go to 'Settings>Advanced>Other settings' and turn off 'Disable other message notification'. You may need to disable other text messaging software to avoid receiving multiple text notifications
Does TXT2Locate store any of my location data?

Is the TXT trigger caps sensitive?
